Just wanted to do a quick post about my wintery creation that is available now on Etsy!

This year Jack refused to rot away,

He wanted to stay with the snowmen and play,

He painted himself white and shoved a carrot in his nose,

And ol’ Jack had a blast until he froze!

Jack has decided to join in on the winter fun! Hand sculpted out of paper and polymer clay than painted. He is attached to a wood base with clay and glitter added to look like snow. Measures 6 ½ inches tall.

Fun and Easy Halloween Pillows!

Hi again, just wanted share a pic of some Halloween pillows that my daughter and I had fun doing! Last year we had found some spooky cute placemats on clearance. We thought it would be fun to turn them into pillows. We notice here that there aren't too many selections of Halloween pillows and if you do find them, they aren't exactly cheap. Also, I can't sew to save my life! When we got home it was easier than we thought. Since the placemat has a front and back fabric, all I had to do was use a seam ripper on a small area and my daughter started stuffing and then we just closed it back up! I thought it was a pretty cool and cheap idea until I got online, I noticed that hundreds of sites have already done it. Oh well! I thought maybe a few of you who might have not seen them yet might find this useful and fun!! :)

My Latest Creepy Creation!

I was finally able to finish another spooky clock in time for Halloween. It is available for purchase now on Ebay! Click on any photo below to be taken to the auction!

It is a wooden mantle clock that measures 7.5 inches x 15 inches. Painted in orange, black, green, white and gold then antiqued for an aged look. The front and sides are hand painted with skeletons in witch hats, pumpkins, bats and spiders. I was trying to resemble something like Victorian wallpaper.

A polymer clay bat has been added to the metal handle on top. I also added four wood balls for feet that has been painted to look like pumpkins.

The back opens up to replace the AA battery and to set the time for the clock. There is enough room back there to hide things! Key is not included, but is currently available over at the Halloween Queens Castle Bootique.

Halloween Queens October BOOtique Updates and BIG Giveaway!

Hi all!! Hope you are all having fun getting ready for Halloween! If you are looking for some fun one of kind art pieces to add to your decorating this year than head on over to the Halloween Queens' Bootique. Not only does each artist have their own page listed with goodies, but this month there is an ornament page and also a themed page. This month's theme is "Put On Your Best Witch's Hat". Here are the pieces that I added to the Boo this month!

The first one is for the theme page. I know it is not a witch's hat but I thought it would be perfect to celebrate the Halloween Queens! And okay, I will also admit it isn't even a real hat, it's a container, but how fun is it anyway!!

I took a found resin trinket box that had a cool shape of a crown and added a hand sculpted cat out of paper clay to the lid. I also added small Jack O'Lanerns and bats around the container part of the crown. Then I painted and antiqued it for an aged look. Measures a little over 7 inches high.

For the Halloween Ornament Page I have available this one of a kind Spooky Halloween Key Ornament! Every haunted house needs a skeleton key! This was made from a found resin key that I added a paper clay skull, bat and Jack O'Lantern. Then painted and antiqued for an aged look. Measures 6.5 inches long.

For my own Creepy Creations Page on the Boo, I listed this cute little guy! "Rombie" the Zombie and his faithful pet "Brainz"!

Rombie is made from polymer clay and painted. He has been dressed in some stylish shredded cloths. Stands 4 inches tall. His pet Brainz is also made from polymer clay and painted.

A creepy coffin box is also included to safely store Rombie and Brainz.

I had also made a mummy doll along with the zombie but my daughter has seem to have claimed her and took off with her saying something about looking cute in a pink dress.

After Pic of My Newest Halloween Clock...

Finally! So much for a week later, huh. I decided to go ahead and put the clock in the Halloween Queens BOOtique September update. So, I waited on the post a little longer than what I had mentioned previously.

Well, here it is!

I decided to go with the usual orange, black, white and green colors. My daughter actually had the idea of the striped columns which I thought was a brilliant idea! Not only are there Jack O'Lanterns on top of this clock but I also added a crow this time. They all have been hand sculpted in paper clay. The vines on the sides are also of paper clay with polymer clay leaves.

I really liked out this one turned out! Hope you do too!!

Here is a before shot of my newest clock that I am almost finished with. Thanks to my sis, I have a pic of what it looked like before I ripped it all apart and sanded it. I always try to take before pics but always forget until it's too late! Of course it is going to be Halloween themed! It started out a pretty color as you can see, I just hope you don't think I should have left it alone when I show the after pics. hee hee

Also I have a Creepy Creations facebook page. I finally figured out how to add a like button to the side of my blog. So if you want to you can like me....please like me! :)

The Halloween Queens BOOtique Is Now Updated For August!

Hi again! As I stated in the title, the BOOtique is updated now with new art for the month of August!! Here are the pieces that I am offering!

The first is another poly resin trinket box that I had found and revamped. I really love the design of this one!

The Jack O'Lantern on top has been hand sculpted from paper clay. Painted in black, orange, green and gold then antiqued for an aged look.

Measures 6.5 inches high and 6 inches wide. The diameter of the inside is 4 inches and 2 inches deep. Perfect for storing your favorite small Halloween treasures! To see more information and pricing, click on any of the above pics.

Meet Radar, he is my other piece that is available for purchase. Radar is a vampire bat ornament that measures 3.5 inches tall. He is made from polymer clay and painted. His wings and feet are made from wire. Black glitter has been added to the wings for some SPARKLE! Miniature Castle Room Box WIP

Here is the room box that I mentioned before that I have slowly been working on. I still have to make a door and a stained glass window for it. I just used foam board, popsicle sticks and paint. Oh, and a little paper clay inside the window and door so it didn't have that cut foam look like you see on the outer edges. I have not attached the walls or floor together yet. It's just held together right now with tape. I was going to go with the Hogwarts Gryffindor common room but just decided to make a basic castle room. I thought it would be great to use when I take pictures of future miniature pieces that I do!

The pictures are kind of small looking. I will take some close up shots when I get the door and window completed. I'm not for sure if you click on them if they will become larger or not.

Here are some dolls that I have made hanging out in the room enjoying the fun goodies that I got from some very talented miniature artists. The zombie duet with the piano is available now at my Etsy shop.

This is a wardrobe cabinet that I purchased from Kate with Whittaker's Miniatures. I eventually plan to revamp it into something spooky some day! I just loved all the little drawers inside. She also made the very cool skull and books on the floor beside it. You can also see my little mandrake root that I attempted to make last year. He decided to come out of his pot and give a pose for the camera!

Here the gang is catching up on all the news from Harry Potter. These were made by Lorraine with DFly Creations that I had posted about before. Also I was lucky enough to win one of her mini wands a while back! As you can see Franky is holding it probably wanting to change himself out of the Santa suit! The lovely zombie lady is modeling the very cool Sorting Hat that I purchased from Kat the Hat Lady, who just makes the most wonderful mini hats! The zombie looks a little shocked at what the hat might be telling her.

Well, I guess this post is to be continued for now until I can get the door and window finished. Hopefully by then I will have some more creepy miniature pieces to display in it. I will be back in a few days with my Halloween Queens Castle BOOtique updates for August.

Wow, I knew it had been a while since I last blogged, but does that last post really say March 23? Shame on me! I don't even have a good excuse to where I have been!

I do have a couple new pieces to show you that are now available at the Halloween Queen's Castle BOOtique though! The first is a fun new jump a peg game with a spooky Alfred Hitchcock theme!

The 14 wood pegs have been embellished with hand sculpted polymer clay birds. All with a creepy blank stare!

An Alfred Hitchcock silhouette is on the top and blood drips go around the entire box. The drips are even leaving a warning on the front!

Surprise! Mother has come to play!!

March BOO Update!

Well the BOO has just been updated for March and I must say that it rocks!! There is so much Creepy Goodness!!

You can finally see my piece that is available for purchase at the BOO. Did you guess it was a man eating plant? This one I made smaller and turned into an ornament. This lil guy is 6 1/4 inches tall (9 inches including hanger). I tried to put a "Do Not Feed" sign on him, but as you can see he didn't like that very much!!

The BOOtique Update for February!

I'm back and wanted to let you know that the Halloween Queens' Castle Bootique was just updated yesterday with some fantastic new art! If you haven't already, click on over and check it out! Here is the piece that I added!

It is a Rockin' Heart Pincushion Box! I thought I would try something a little different this month since Valentine's is coming up. I had found this skull and rose pattern material a while back and thought it would be perfect for this piece. The box, of course, is made out of wood and already had some ugly fabric in it that looked like it was from an old couch. I replaced it with the new fabric and hand painted the heart box to match! I embellished three pins with beads and metal cross charms to go with it.

I continued the vines on the inside of the box which is the perfect size to store more pins, threads or other little sewing needs!

I was so excited when the mailman finally delivered my ornament created by the very creative and talented Lori Rudolph with Retro Rudolph's!! I couldn't wait to open it! A while back, I saw that she had some of these really cool and fun Kat-Ka-Boom Firecracker ornaments for sale and contacted her to see if there were any left. They had all sold, of course, but she was so kind to offer to make another one! I just had to show you all!

Isn't it just the coolest!! I thought it was so clever and I LOVE the detail that Lori put into it! It even came with a matching postcard! I have always loved Lori's work and I am so happy to finally get to add one of her ornies to my Halloween tree!! To check out Lori's blog click here!

I was very surprised and delighted to find out that I was the winner of this adorable lil Snow Folk created by the very talented Kaf Grimm with Olde Cape Primitives! Kaf does such wonderful work! As you can see this Snow Folk is just the cutest! My daughter went nuts when she saw her and made sure that she was hung right on the very middle of the tree so she can be noticed by everybody that comes over!

The New Celebrate365 Holiday Issue

On page 24 you can see my not so Creepy Christmas Creation. It is a Christmas Mouse Candy Dish. I guess it could be a little creepy if you were terrified of adorable little mice! hee hee I love how Connie Porcher included a page of fun and yummy looking pieces! How clever!

UH OH! It seems that this guy has helped himself to the Christmas candy!

The dish measures 16 1/2 inches tall and is polyresin and glass. The mouse has been handsculpted on top out of paperclay and painted. It is available now for $65 and even comes with the Brach's Peppermint Candy! If this is something your are interested in, you'ld better hurry! With this mouse hanging around, the candy may not last long!!

Why it's Frankenclaus!!

Well, here he is! My first 1:12 scale miniature doll finally finished and just in time for Christmas! Hand sculpted out of polymer clay and painted. His Santa suit has even been hand made. Measures a monstrous 6 1/2 inches tall including the hat.

He comes with a miniature gingerbread windmill that reminds him of his favorite movie Frankenstein. It has also been made from polymer clay and is attached to a metal tray. Table not included.

He also comes with a surprise miniature Christmas gift!!

December BOOtique Update!

It is that time again for the Halloween Queen's Bootique Update! Actually I am a few days late with the news! Creepy Updates for November!

Oh my, I just noticed that it has been over a month since I last posted. Shame on me!! I wanted to share some new Halloween ornaments that I recently have gotten from some very talented artists. The first pic is part of my new Halloween tree that I had purchased this year. I had been looking for a black one for awhile and this one seemed perfect when I saw it. I found it at Kohl's in the Christmas section for only $20.00. I had to remove the lights though, they were just white ones and looked like they were just slopped on the tree. I replaced them with more neatly arranged orange ones, of course. It stands 4 ft. tall so it's the perfect size for a table!

The first ornie that I would like to share was made by a Halloween Queen, Shirley with Skellyton Art! It is a very cool witch skelly! I just love the expression on it's face!!

The next one is a cute lil Scarecrow that was created by another great artist and Halloween Queen Wanda with Cypress Hollow Primitives. I saw this one and knew I had to have it too!

I had also did a Tombstone Trade awhile back in Sept. hosted by Dani with Ambitions Design and I had the most amazing partner Kim with Kim Hardt Originals. She made this wonderful tomstone that I just thought was fabulous and had to add it to my tree!

They all go great with the awesome ornaments that I have posted about already that were created by The Gourdqueen, HoHoHalloween, Peach Street, and Marie Patterson Studio.

Now for what I have been up to. I have currently been working on another Halloween game and a couple commissioned pieces that I hope to have done soon. I have also been working on a couple of miniature pieces that I can't wait to get completed so I can show you! I finally have started on my Harry Potter roombox that I hope to have some pics of soon too! Can't wait for the movie by the way!! I have not forgotten about the witch room, it is still on my work table. It was shoved back because I was not happy with how the fireplace was coming along. I will be getting back to that one too, I promise!

I finally have my Halloween Checkerboard listed on Ebay!

Jack O'Lanterns VS. Skulls!

Board measures 16 x16 and around 4 inches high. As I mentioned before I added wood balls for feet and covered with paper clay Jack O'Lanterns. Clay vines and leaves wrap around the entire box.

I added 2 knobs on the drawer and painted them opposite colors of orange and green for each player. The pieces can be stored safely inside and also come with small cloth bags. On the back side of the checker pieces are hand painted crowns so they can be used for Kings!

The BOOtique October Update!

The Halloween Queens BOOtique has just been updated with some spooktacular new art and just in time for Halloween!! Here are my listings for this month:

5 inch Who Do Voodoo Bottle hand sculpted out of paper clay over a polyresin knob with glass, wood, metal and clay charms and beads.

And also a Sitting Man Eating Plant that sits 7.5 inches tall from bottom of pot to top of head. Created from paper mache, paper clay and polymer clay.

My Husband's Spooky Tree Bottle

Wanted to share with you a very cool project that my husband, Darren, has been working on for some time now and recently finished.

It's a spooky tree that he hand sculpted out of paper clay over a glass bottle. He even sculpted an owl on top of a cork that fits right in the bottle to look like the owl is perched in the tree! I thought it came out wonderfully creepy! I always enjoy it when he is able to sit down with me and do art! I think he does awesome work!!

Yay! Celebrate 365 Fall Issue is out!

The 2010 Fall Issue of Celebrate 365 is out and I am so excited to say that I have a few pieces in it!! It is packed with awesome art from so many wonderful artists! As you can see there is a wicked cool piece done by Scott Smith from Rucus Studio on the cover!

You can see my “Drink Me” Cat Bottle and Frankenkitty displayed on page 14 with so many other fun pieces!!

My Vintage Style Cat Ornie is even displayed in the Halloween Artist advertisement that is also in this issue!

"Wicked" Witch Boot!

Wanted to share with you a really cool Halloween decoration that my sister made! It is a vintage style witch boot made out of paper mache!

Tiffany with All Things Crafty had recently done a Halloween swap with another artist and made one of these awesome witch boots! Well, it ended up being a big hit and we have been begging her to make more ever since! She was finally able to complete a couple to sell and has this one available now on ebay for only a 5 day listing! I just love how this one turned out!! I think the style of boot she did is just fantastic! You can view the Ebay listing here. I am excited to see what else she comes up with!!

Creepy Updates for September!

Hey all! Thought I would post on a few things that are happening!

First of all the Halloween Queens just updated the BOOtique September 1st! If you have not stopped by yet, you really need to go over and check out all the fabulous new items that are available for purchase! Here is what I offered and I am very excited to say that it has already sold!

It's an Owl Picture Frame Ornie! I hand sculpted and carved it out of paper clay and added a little frame for a body then made the feet and branch from paper clay.

Also the Hallowee Queens are having a Skeleton theme month on Ebay for September! If you click on the banner on the right it should take you right to the AHQU Ebay listings.

Next, the Halloween Artist website has just been revamped and has some very exciting new things on it! There is now a Collector's Corner by Robert Brawley and an Ask the Artist section by Brenda Labell. There is even a Magical Market Place where Halloween Artists can list pieces that they have available for sale. I have a Vintage Style Cat Ornie available there now!

I have also finally added some items for sale in my Etsy shop, if you have not noticed. I opened the shop ages ago and am just now trying it out! I really like it! There is so much great stuff on Etsy!!

Finally, I wanted to share a sneak peak of a Halloween checkerboard that I have been working on for some time now and I finally almost have it complete! I added some wood balls to the board for feet and covered them with paper clay pumpkins. All I need to do now is paint the checker pieces and it will be ready for Halloween! Here are a few wip pics:

Meet the new members of the Man Eating Plant family! Aren't they precious?! It was almost impossible to get them all to pose at once, but I was able to snap a quick pic before they all ran off to terrorize the neighborhood!haha

Hi again, hope everyone is well! Just wanted to let you all know that the Halloween Queens BOOtique has been updated for the month of August and there are some really awesome Halloween goodies available there! Here is the piece that I am offering this month.

Yes, another one of my decorative Jack O'Lantern trinket boxes! This one is a little bigger than the last one I did. It measures 7.5 inches tall and 7 inches wide. I hand sculpted, out of paper clay, the Jack O'Lantern on top and also added 4 small ones around the bottom part of the box. I thought this one turned out really cool looking, I really like the black and orange checker pattern!

This will probably be the last trinket box that I will be doing for a little while. I have some other projects that I am going to be working on. I really need to get back to my Miniature Witch Shadow Box and I have also started a really fun Halloween Checker Game that I can't wait to get done!!

Witch Room Slowly Getting Fireplace!

Thought I would invite you back into the minature witch room that I have slowly been working on. I can't believe it has been about a month now. Not much more has been completed. I am still working on the fireplace as you can see. I put some paper clay over some wood, lined out the bricks and then let dry.

I used this really cool stamp that I had found a while back at a craft store. It has three different textures that resemble concrete. I thought it would work great with the brick. I'm not very good at mixing paint, so I just threw a bunch of different colors together as you can see below.

Next, I washed it with gray to fill in the grout lines. Below is the brick fiished. Oh, I guess I still need to dirty it up abit so that it looks like it has been used. Also added another piece of board on the bottom so I can add more stone under the mantel. My husband cut the mantel for me out of an old branch that he found down at the river. I thought it looked pretty cool. I still need to make a stone floor for inside the fireplace. I had one made but it ended up being too small so I need to start again.

Finally, below is a pic of a cobble stone effect that I tried to do out of paper clay. Wasn't having very much luck with the stones wanting to stay on. Might have to take this off and try again, but this is the look that I am going for.

Sorry, didn't have much to show this time. Hope to have more for the next update!! I am also planning on posting a wip soon on the dolls that I have been working on too!

The Halloween Queen's Castle Bootique has now been updated with awesome new Halloween Art!! Click HERE to go on over and check it out!!

This is my piece for the Bootique. It is a vintage style "Night Owl" light! I took a polyresin and glass candy dish and transformed it into night light.

I flipped the glass over and drilled a hole in the bottom on the dish so a light can be attached. The picture below shows it lit up with a flicker bulb that is included.

The glass can easily be turned around and it can be used as a candy dish too. The owl head has been hand sculpted from paper clay.

Stands 12.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide.

It's Alive!

Here is Frankenkitty! He has been chained up for your protection! The weather has been just right and I have finally been able to bring him to life!! Muwahaha!

Sorry about that! As I posted before, he is hand sculpted from paper clay and stands with base around 8 inches tall. He should hopefully be listed on Ebay tomorrow evening. I'll update this post with the link as soon as he is!

Moore Work in Progress!

I wanted to share with you another project that I have just completed and will be listing on Ebay hopefully within the next couple of days! It is my Frankenkitty sculpture that has been sitting on my work table for a while now. I'm only going to show you a work in progress right now and will show you the finish piece when he is ready to list! He is sculpted out of paper clay and stands about 7 inches tall.

Also, I wanted to update you on the Halloween Queens Bootique piece that I showed you a hint of in my last post. The update for this month will be on the 15th! So just in a few days you will be able to see that one too!! It's a hoot!

Here are some trinket boxes that I am getting ready to work on soon. I just got them primed and ready for adding clay and paint.

I'm even hoping to have some pics to show of the miniature witch room that I have been working on. The fireplace has been slow going with all these other projects that I have been doing, but I hope to finish it sometime during the week or atleast have a good start on it. I had recently purchased a how to book on making 1/12 scale polymer clay dolls and I will share with you my attempts at that also!haha

Hey there! Just wanted to give you a sneak peek of my new art piece for the Halloween Queen's Castle Bootique. The pic is a work in progress. I took the original finial off the top, as you can see in the pic, and replaced it with something that I hand sculpted out of paper clay! Wonderful Goodies from Overseas!

Wanted to show some wonderful goodies that my daughter, Kaylie, and I received from Kate Whittaker and her daughter Lola!! Kate had a contest, on her blog, to come up with a name for one of her wonderful miniature dolls that she just got. I was very surprised when she contacted me saying that she was going to use part of the name that I came up with!! The prize was a very cool Alice in Wonderland book! She was so kind since she also had picked part of a name from somebody else, she went and got another book so we could each have one! She thought it was something that my daughter would really enjoy. My daughter and I have not seen the movie yet, but we are going to run out and buy the dvd as soon as it comes out! Well, to our surprise and delight not only did we receive one package, but there were two, one for each of us!

My daughter's had the book in it plus an amazing story writen by Kate's daughter Lola. Lola even drew an awesome picture of a dragon to go with it!! She is very talented and I can see her being a wonderful author when she gets older!! She is the same age as Kaylie and my daughter was very excited when Lola asked if they could be pen pals!! She is in to miniautures just like her mom and even has her own blog, Princess Lola's Miniature Diary .

The package for me had 2 miniature magazines in it. I have not been able to find any miniature magazines here so it was very cool to be able to go through them and get some ideas for some future projects. I even seen an article with Nikki Rowe, with Witch And Wizard Miniatures, that sells awesome miniatures on Etsy.

Kate also sent some fun minitature items that I can use in the witch room that I am currently doing! I was so excited to see a miniature bird cage. I had told her that I wanted one for a project that I want to try and was going to see if I couldn't talk my husband into making one, but now I don't have to! I'm not going to say what I want to do with it yet, it will be a surprise. Until I am for sure I can even do it!haha

I was so delighted to find a miniature stack of books with a skull and potion bottle that Kate had made! I think it is awesome! When I finally get my own room box started, this is definitely going in it!!

1st Shadow Box in Progress!

Here is a wip that I just started. I have done light up scenes in clocks before, but they have not been true 1/12 scale.  Thanks again to Kate with Whittaker's Miniatures, who has been helping me out greatly, I have decided to try a miniature scale display. I had found this shadow box a while back and thought it would make a fun old witch room. It actually had a scene in it when I got it, but I ripped everything out except what you see below. I would have shown the real before pic but Kate is using the other pieces and I don't want to spoil what she is doing.  The box does hang on the wall and has a frame and glass.

I started by taking some spackle that I found in our garage and brushed it on the walls to give it a rough look. Kind of made a mess of things. Oops!

I had found a bag of popsicle sticks at the hobby store and used them to make the floor. I just cut the ends off and then cut them into different sizes. I used painters tape once I had it all layed out to keep them all together so I could paint. I can't glue the floor down into the room yet because I am planning on adding lights and I'm not sure yet where the wires are going.  Don't know why this pic turned out so yellow.

The next pic shows the walls painted an antique white and then aged and the floor has been stained. I did not have real stain, so I used brown acrylic paint mixed with an antique/staining medium, then dry brushed some black around to make it look older.

The last pic shows the 2 pieces that I kept, of course I still need to add to them, and the start of the fireplace. My plans are having the embers in the fireplace light up and a cauldron inside that also lights up. I also want to add a window and some more shelves with bottles, books and other witchy things. I am hoping to even make a witch doll to go in it.

I will post more on this box soon after I get the fireplace figured out!

Mama's Lil Pumpkin!

Well here he is, a face only a mother could love! Made for the AHQU May Mother's Day Challenge!

He sits 5 inches tall and is made out of paper clay. The little bat on his beanie is polymer clay and his socks and overalls are fabric.

Like I said before, in my previous post (there is also a before pic), the stroller is 12 inches tall. I covered the basket of the stoller with paper mache and clay to look like a pumpkin and added polymer clay vines and leaves. I covered the original handle and turned it into the shape of a bone. The wheels, after adding some missing spokes, I wrapped wire through them to look like spider webs and than attached some spiders. The wheels still spin and the top folds up and down.

The inside of the stroller has been relined with soft orange fabric so Mama's Lil Pumpkin can enjoy a comfortable ride.

A Creepy Creations Update

Hey all! Just wanted to give a quick update on what has been going on here. First of all, the Halloween Queens has a May Challenge going on, "A face only a mother could love".

I knew I just had to do this one. A few years back my sister had given me a couple of small baby carriages, about 12 inches tall, that have just been sitting in my garage. Well, I thought this would be a great reason to use one. Here is a before pic:

I will post pictures of the finished piece later. I've decided to list it in the Halloween Queens Castle Bootique that will be updated on May 1st. Also, if you have not been over that way, they are having a giveaway!! There is a link over on the right hand side of my blog that will take you there to get signed up!

I just love giveaways and speaking of which, I would also like to share an aceo that I had won in a giveaway from Annette with Southern Fried Studios!

It is titled "Macky" and is done with acrylic. I was so excited when I received it in the mail! She is a very talented artist!! Thank you Annette!!

As for an update on what you should see from me in the near future, I have a few new things I am trying. I am still trying to finish a Frankenkitty sculpture that has been sitting on my table for a month now. I am also working on a night light that I am making out of a candy dish, I will post a before pic soon. Finally, thanks to Kate with Whittaker's Miniatures , who got me very interested in miniatures and has been helping me out greatly with them, I am starting a miniature shadow box. I am thinking of doing a witch room in it that will light up. Kate is a huge miniature collector and has lots of very cool houses and she has been very kind with helping me with getting the size and everything right, plus she has a lot of great ideas! So, I will probably be bugging her a lot when I start my shadow box.

The Halloween Queens Castle Bootique Has Been Updated!

The Halloween Queen's Castle Bootique has just been updated with new artwork for April! There is even an ornie page now added! You really must go check it out!!

Here is the piece I listed. It is a candy dish that I hand painted in a vintage Halloween style. One side has a silhouette of an old witch/hag and on the other side is a skull with crossbones. I also hand sculpted the bat, on top of the lid, out of paperclay. The dish has been aged and given a protective gloss coat. Measures 10.5 inches tall.

My First Easter / Spring Art Piece For Sale Now!

I finally have an Easter / Spring piece completed and for sale. I had found this dish and thought that it would look great for an Easter / Spring project because of all the flowers.

I hand sculpted the bunny on the lid out of paper clay and than painted it and the rest of the dish in light colors. Painting all the different colors around the dish took a little longer than I planned but I think it came out okay!

This dish measures 13 inches tall including the lid and 6.5 inches wide.

HELP! I think they want to eat me!!!

Getting ready to list these two man eating plants on Ebay and the sooner the better. I don't know if it is just me, but something just doesn't seem right. I had put them in pots until I got around to making another bouquet, but soon I noticed that the pots started cracking. Next thing I know arms and legs are busting out of the pots!! I'm scared that they are going to start coming after me and my family. Actually, I have not seen my dog lately!

Sorry, I'm just having too much fun with these!
The plants are hand sculpted out of paper clay and the leaves are polymer clay. The standing plant measures 12 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide including the arms and the sitting one measures 8 inches tall and 9 inches wide including the arms. The one standing is attached to a wood base. The one sitting is not attached to the rock so it can be sat on a shelf or where ever. The terra cotta pots that they are in measure almost 3 inches tall and 3 inches wide at the top. I put a quarter in the photo below so you can see the size. I was going to use my hand, but I didn't think that was a very good idea since they are looking really hungry!

I Guess I Have a Little Climber!

Thursday I took my 7 year old daughter to the YMCA so she could do the rock wall for the first time. She told me on the way there that she was going to climb to the top and honk the horn. That horn was pretty high up there so I told her just to have fun and don't worry if she doesn't make it to the top. Well it didn't take long and she was up there honking the horn. I guess she is not scared of heights like her mom.

"Drink Me" Cat Bottle
I received so many wonderful comments on the first cat bottle that I did, I thought I would go ahead and make another one. I figured it was perfect timing with the Alice In Wonderland movie coming out soon. The bottle measures 7.5 inches tall and 4 inches wide. It is hand sculpted out of paper clay on a glass bottle, then painted and antiqued. This one I added a neck / base to the bottom to give it a little more detail!

Jack O'Lantern Charm Bracelet with Lined Coffin Box
Made with 3 hand sculpted polymer clay Jack O'Lantern charms and glass beads on a gold chain. Measures 7 inches long but can be resized if needed. The coffin box is lined with a black corduroy fabric on the bottom. The outside has been distrest and painted to look like an old creepy coffin. Coffin measures 6 x 2 x 3 inches.

Vintage Style Jack O'Lantern Star Ornie
It measures 4.5 inches tall and 4.5 wide (including the metal hanger it measures 8 inches long). The star is made out paper clay then painted, crackled and antiqued. The leaves are made out of polymer clay.

Vintage Halloween Style Candy Dish

I just listed on ebay this Vintage Halloween Style Candy Dish.

I hand painted three different scenes around the dish. Then, crackled and antiqued it.

The Jack O'Lantern knob on the lid has been hand sculpted in clay and painted to match.

You might remember the dish as a vase for a man eating plant arrangement that I did. I decided to add a lid so it can be used as a dish to hold things too. It has more uses this way.

LED Light Up Trick or Treat Clock

I just listed this grandfather style mantel/wall clock on ebay. It stands 24.5 inches tall and 11 inches wide. This is the biggest clock that I have done so far.

I removed the pendulum that was in the inside and added a spooky graveyard scene that has been hand sculpted in polymer clay. The background is painted to look like a night sky with a full moon, bats and an old haunted house.

LED lights have been hardwired in so they come up through the wood base behind the tree, Jack O’ Lantern, and ghost to light the scene up and give it an eerie glow. The ghost also glows in the dark. There is a switch on the side of the clock so if it is hung on the wall the lights can still be turned on and off.

The clock face has 4 glow in the dark polymer clay ghosts in each corner.

At the bottom of the clock there are 19 hand sculpted Jack O’ Lanterns that totally go around the front and sides of the clock. The sides of the clock are also embellished with clay leaves on hand painted vines that are done in an antique gold.

Just Checking In!

Finally able to sit down and update my blog. I know, you’re thinking that it’s about time! I have a lot of fun new ideas for 2010 and I can’t wait to get started! I would also like to show-n-tell some wonderful pieces of art that I received from some very talented artists!!

Chris with Designs by CK titles the first piece “Hallomas Train”. I saw this listed on eBay and knew that I just had to have it! Not only does it have both Halloween and Christmas, but also the train reminds me of the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter series. I just love it!!

And that’s not all, to my surprise and delight there was another piece that he sent to me, “VampJack “. Another cool postcard!!! I have wanted one of his Halloween postcards for a while now and am so excited to have two!! The detail in his work is just awesome!!

I was also fortunate enough to be one of the winners in a blog giveaway given by Robert with Halloween Fanatic. I did not know what I was going to be receiving until it arrived and was very excited to see that it was a postcard done of an owl. I just love owls and he did an amazing job, as you can see!! I can't wait to get all these framed and hung up!

As for my art, I should have some pieces ready to list soon. I have a couple pieces that I am relisting and I am also revamping a few with something new I wanted to try. I am also going to start listing what I have for sale over on the top right hand side of my blog. That way it will be easier to see what I currently have available. It will be either what I’m listing on eBay or for sale directly from this blog, so keep checking back!

Halloween Jack O Lantern Candy Dish

Here is a vintage Halloween style candy dish that I just listed on ebay tonight. I found this unique candy dish and thought it would look great with a Halloween theme. The knob was broken on it, but I planned on sculpting over it any way! The jol is hand sculpted out of paper clay and then painted. I repainted the rest of the dish in black, orange, green and gold to match. Then I antiqued it to give it an old vintage look and gave it a protective clear coat. I thought it turned out quite elegant looking. It measures around 8.5 inches wide and 11 inches tall (including the jol).

Tombstone Trade Treasure!

I recently participated in a tombstone trade put on by Dani at Ambitions Design and got an awesome partner, Marie Patterson. If you have not seen her blog, you should really check it out. She does some really great stuff!!

Here is the tombstone that I made for Marie. The rules were to sculpt a tombstone and it needed to measure around 2.5 x. 3.5. I made this one out of polymer clay.

Here is the tombstone that Marie made me! Isn't it just the coolest?! I love it!! He has a little marker in his hand that he used to cross out "RIP" and wrote "Never".

I had a really fun time with this swap and hope to do it again next year!

More Fun After the Show

I thought I would share some more pics of our trip after the show. I know there are a lot of pics, it was hard to narrow it down to this many. We had a lot of fun! Thanks to family that had timeshare, we were able to stay longer than we originally planned and at a really cool resort too!

While I was at the show, my husband took our daughter to the Central Florida Zoo. I thought this pic was so cute!

The whole long drive from Kansas to Florida, all my daughter talked about was getting her pic with Mickey Mouse and going to the largest McDonalds in the world. As you can see we found the McDonalds, it had two floors with games and lots and lots of kids!

We decided to go to Sea World and see Shamu. This is what we saw driving into the park.

The shows were really great!

We even got to dine with Shamu. Here he is saying "Hi".

Unfortunately, the next morning,our daughter, Kaylie woke up with a fever. The next day she started to get a sore throat. We were starting to get a little worried because of the swine flu thing going around so we started to call around to find a doctor. Fortunately, the resort that we stayed at had a doctor that came to the rooms. Kaylie ended up getting tonsillitis! So, we ended up having to stay in the room a few more days. Kaylie was starting to worry that she wouldn't see Mickey before we had to go.

The day before we had to leave we decided to try and check out the beaches. We ended up at Vero beach. Another cute pic!

The day we checked out of our room, Kaylie was feeling much better. We decided to sneak over to Disney World for a few hours. Okay it was more like most of the day. We had to leave at a decent time though because we had a LONG drive ahead. Here is the view driving into the Magical Kingdom.

I loved the Halloween decorations that were around the park!

Of course we had to go check out the Haunted Mansion!

Back from Florida and My First Halloween Show!

Just got back from my first Halloween show and what a treat to be able to experience it in Florida! Me and my family had such a great time! I thought I would share a few pics! As I told you before the show was "Spirits on First" put on by Jeanine Taylor Art Gallery in historical downtown Sanford, Florida. Jeanine and the rest of the gang were so great and they did an awesome job at making the show really cool. I met so many great people, collectors and artists!!

I had received a lot of postive comments on my work! I had made some Halloween jewelry with handmade clay beads that sold very well! I was really excited!

I included with the jewelry a lined coffin box, that I handpainted, to store each piece in.

Melissa Menzer was another artist that had a great display of antique pieces that she sculpted clay faces on. Each piece was so unique! She has quite the imagination!! I could have stared at her table for hours, there was so much detail in her work!

Jorge de Rojas with HohoHalloween was also there! I had seen his work before and was really excited to finally meet him! He is such a talented artist and a wonderful person!!

I really like his witches, so I had to get me one of his ornies!

I thought it was so cool! After the show, he gave my daughter one of his pieces! She was very excited, she is making him something and is going to send it to him.

I had such a fun time, I can't wait until next year!

Finally Finished the Man Eating Plants!

Well, I finally have some pics to post of the Man Eating Plant Arrangements.

I have not decided yet if I will sell one on eBay or just take them both to the Halloween show that I am getting ready to attend, I'm still trying to get more projects finished. Both arrangements have 3 man eating plants each. Each one is done with fall colored flowers. Since I handpainted scenes on each side of the pots, I tried to arrange them to where there is a man eating plant on each side of the arrangement. They are not glued in so they can be rearranged or changed.

My Malice in Wonderland Entry

As I told you before the AHQU (Artistic Halloween Queens Unite) group's theme for the month of August is "Malice in Wonderland". Well, I finally finished my entry piece. I used the "Drink Me" bottle idea and the Cheshire Cat. I started with a glass bottle and added Fastmache and paperclay. The bottle stands a little over 7 inches tall.

Halloween JOL Bracelet and Trinket Box

Hi all! Just wanted to post this Halloween charm bracelet with matching trinket box that I just finished and listed tonight on eBay.

The bracelet measures 7 inches long with glass beads and 3 handmade polymer clay jol beads.

The trinket box has been handpainted in a vintage style. The Jack O Lantern on top has been handmade out of paperclay and the leaves are made from polymer clay. The inside has been lined with a black corduroy fabric. The box measures 4.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall (about 5 inches tall including the jol).

Man Eating Plant WIP

Here are a couple of pics of what I have so far on the man eating plants.

I started with slicing an area out of the styrofoam ball for the mouth. Then I used paperclay and covered the ball and shaped the mouth area. Before the clay dried, I added some teeth that I had made and baked earlier out of white polymer clay. After the paperclay dried, I went back and added viens on each plant.

Now I need to finish the detailing on each and then they are ready to paint. I will be back with more pics when I have that completed!

Creepy Creations Update!

Wow, I can't believe I have not posted anything in over a month! Shame on me!! I have a couple of pretty good excuses though. The main one is that I had family staying with me the whole month. So you know how that can be! HaHa! No, really I had a fun time but it is time to get back to work!! I have some really exciting and fun things coming up! Unfortunately I had to stop working on my Harry Potter clock in order to get some other stuff done, but as soon as I can I will get back to it and share some pics.

First of all, the eBay group AHQU (Artistic Halloween Queens Unite) has decided on a theme for the month of August. Are you ready for this....Malice in Wonderland! So, if you are on eBay you really must check us out and see what creative things are being listed all that month. I will be posting more later on when I start on mine, I have a few ideas rattling around in my brain.

Also AHQU is having an ornie swap amongst some of the artists in the group. I can't wait to see who my partner will be, I just love doing swaps! I have not really made an ornament so this should be fun! I think I might try a couple, I have been wanting to do a giveaway on my blog. I will post more information later!

Next, I am currently working on another Man Eating Plant Arrangement to sell on eBay. I had so many positive comments on the first one, I thought I would give another one a go. This time I will try and show some pics of the process.

Here is the before pic of a pot that I found. I also included the start of the ManEating Plants - rods and styrofoam balls. Wow, I really have a lot done there, huh!

Actually I am making 2 arrangements. I have been invited to a Halloween Show in Florida called "Spirits on First Street"! I am really excited! I am trying to get as many projects completed as I can. That has been another reason why I am behind on my posting. Below I have a pic of the projects that I am trying to complete now. Normally I am a one at a time project kind of gal, but yes, I am trying to do all these at once. I also have 2 more clocks and 2 games and some jewelry that I would also like to complete before the show in October! I will share more pics when they are completed. You can't really tell in the pic, but there is a grandfather clock that measures a little over 24 inches tall that I will be adding a led light up scene to, a knick knack cabinet in the back that will also have a light up scene and I am adding a clock to it too, a small box that will hold a piece of jewelry that I might go ahead and sell on eBay, the two pots for the man eating plant arrangements, and a candy dish that I have already done some clay work on.

Well, I think I have caught you up on everything for now. I will post again soon when I have more completed on the man eating plants.

Halloween Jewelry Box Completed!

Here it is all finished and listed on eBay!

The Jack O'Lantern on top is handmade out of paper clay and the leaves are polymer clay. I covered the drawer knobs with smaller polymer clay jols and leaves. The knob on the door is a gold clay star to match the stars on the panel that is also handmade out of polymer clay.

The box measures 10.5 inches wide and about 13 inches tall including the jol on top.

Here is a pic of the back so you can see where the light goes in and the polymer clay skeleton and crossbones wind up for the musical movement. When you open or close the bottom drawer it will start or stop the music. I replaced the old movement with a new one that plays Alfred Hitchcock's theme "Funeral March of a Marionette".

This is what the panel looks like when it is lit up. You can't tell in the pic, but I used a flicker light bulb. It really looks cool! The bulb will be included in the auction.

Also included is a handmade owl necklace. I used black, green and orange glass beads to go with the Halloween theme. The necklace measures 11 inches long from the clasp to the end of the owl pendant.

Halloween Jewelry Box WIP

Boy, I just noticed that I have not posted anything in awhile. Sorry about that. I have been busy working on a few new projects and thought I should go ahead and share one of them with you.

Isn't it beautiful?! Yah, right! Here is the before pic of a jewelry box that I found and am currently working on. Actually it didn't look this bad when I got it. I stripped all the hardware off and started sanding on it when I remembered I forgot to take a before pic. It will be, of course, a Halloween themed box hand painted in orange and black with some gold and green accents. I replaced the glass with a panel made out of polymer clay. I am also adding a light to the back that will light up the panel. I ripped out the old yucky fuzzy lining in the drawers and will reline them with a nice black corduroy material. This box also came with a wind up musical movement that I will be replacing with a new one. I would also like to make a piece of jewelry to go with it, I am still trying to decide. It is almost completed, I am just adding the finishing touches. I hope to have it ready to list in a few days. I should have some better pics for you then!!

Jack O'Lantern Necklace

Here is a handmade necklace that is now listed on eBay. I made it for the HA31 May Jewelry Challenge. The challenge was to create a piece of jewelry or something small to hang like on a rearview mirror or ceiling fan pull. It could be Halloween related or not, but of course, I went with the Halloween theme. I love Jack O'Lanterns, so I decided to make some polymer clay jol beads and I also added a cabochon one to the pendant. The chain and pendant is black nickel and I added white and green pearl beads. I also added 3 light green saphires to the pendant that are kind of hard to see in the pics. The necklace meaures about 14 inches long from the lobster clasp to the beads hanging from the bottom of the pendant.

Haunted House For Sale!

Well, I finally have the haunted house photo box completed and listed on eBay! It seemed like it took long enough but I am happy with the results!

As you can see I handpainted the sides to look like old painted wood shingles and made polymer clay panels that fit into where 4 photos were originally supposed to go. I also painted the roof using another faux wood technique and I covered the original knob to the lid with a handmade polymer clay stone chimney. As I mentioned before everything has been handmade out of polymer clay except for the wood window shutters, the plexiglass and curtains for the windows! There is also a base on the bottom that winds up to slowly spin the house around and play music. I replaced the old musical movement with a new one that plays Alfred Hitchcock's theme "The Funeral March of the Marionette". If your speakers are on I have added the song to my music player so you know what it will sound like.

Here is the tree that I showed you in the prior post. The trick or treaters that were in my sketch were on the house too, but the tree ate them! Just kidding! LOL

The person inside the window is my husband! He was never able to get out after he installed the lights! Just kidding again!

The inside has a Jack O'Lantern switch to turn the lights on and off that my husband installed inside the box to light up the windows. There are also 2 photo books that together hold 48 4x6 photos!

Below are a couple of pics of the lights when they are on. I could not get very good dark pics with my camera, it looks a lot better then the pics show. There are two yellow led lights inside the windows to light up the silhouttes and there are green leds behind the ghost and the tree. The ghost also glows in the dark.

Each side of the photo box measures about 9 inches wide with the clay pieces and 10.5 inches tall including the spinning base and chimney.

Open House Delayed

Yes, as you can see I have not posted pics or the auction yet for my haunted house. Unfortunately I came down with something and was not able to work on it, but I am feeling better now and am about ready to finally put this house on the market. My husband and I also did some little adjustments and was able to do more than what we originally had planned. We hope to have the finishing touches completed tonight!! This project has been very challenging and yet very fun for me!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did creating it! Pictures will be posted soon, sorry for the delay! Here is another sneak peek of some more clay work that we did.

Everything on the house will be hand made out of polymer clay except for the window shutters.

Well, I better get back to work!

Haunted House Under Construction!

I am currently working on a haunted house photo box. I should have it completed in a few days and ready to post this sunday on eBay. I was planning on listing it last night, but I have not had the time to sit down and work on it like I had hoped. I did get quite a bit done this weekend, so I thought I would show some pics of what I have so far.

I found this really cool photo box the shape of a house and thought it would be fun to turn it into a haunted house. Here is a rough sketch that I did a while back. I normally don't do sketches because I am always changing my mind, but since I was decorating 4 sides, I kind of needed a plan.

The pic below shows the photo box painted and ready to be put back together, that is if I can remember how to put it back together. My husband always gets after me because I get so excited to start a new project I just start taking it apart and forget how I did it. I did a Halloween gumball machine once and he ended up having to sit down and figure out how to get it working again. Oops!

The last pic here is of a door and a side panel that I made out of polymer clay. I plan on putting the clay side panels where the photos were supposed to go in the box to give it more of a relief look.

I will post more pics of the house as soon as it is completed! There are some special things that I am adding to this piece that I will share with you then.

Spring Challenge Goodies!

Here are the goodies that I received from the Spooky Spring Challenge. I feel so special to not only be the Featured Artist on the HA31 website, but to also receive these wonderful pieces from three awesome artists!!!

The first piece I received is a cool skeleton ACEO from Bob with B.l.ink. Here is a close up of the ACEO. It is titled "Day Streaming"! Bob creates these very cool ACEOs with skeletons and they are so detailed! It is always exciting to see what he is going to come up with next!!

Another Project With My Daughter

Thought I would share another project that I did with my daughter for school. If you know my daughter than you know that she absolutely loves bunnies!! According to her, she has loved them ever since she was little. Well any way, she was supposed to make or decorate a hat to wear for a hat parade in her first grade class. We went to our local party store and she fell in love with a fuzzy (and I mean fuzzy) pink hat (I forgot to mention that she also absolutely loves pink). So, we came up with the idea to make a bunny hat as you can see below.

It was actually quite easy. We cut 2 holes on the top of the hat and slid a bunny ear headband that she had gotten for Easter. We figured that way since the hat was a little big, that the headband would help keep it on her head and also it saves mom from trying to sew. Next, we just hot glued on some large wiggly eyes, a nose, and, of course, a fluffy white tail in the back. Presto! Off to school she goes!

Here she is starting to really get into modeling the hat!

Sorry I am a little slow, but I am finally posting a wonderful blog award that I received a few weeks back from Chris at Designs by CK. Chris is an awesome artist and his blog is sooo cool! I love seeing all the funny photos he posts too. I did not want this award to pass by without giving a big THANK YOU CHRIS! I'm still kind of new to this, but I think I am supposed to list 7 things about myself and then pass the award on to 7 others. Here goes:

1. I am scared to death of spiders. Don't ask me why I have one on my blog.

2. I am left handed, so I guess that means I am in my right mind.

3. I love love love Starbucks, I could probably keep them in business by myself.

4. I can not stand to look at or touch raw meat. I don't know why I thought of that, I think I'm getting desperate.

6. I was born and raised in Kansas. I moved away as soon as I was old enough (said I was never going back). Had to come back temporarily to help out family, but then I ended up meeting my husband and have not been able to leave Kansas again since.

7. I am not a very good swimmer. I have been saved twice without knowing that I needed to be saved. I thought I was doing quite well, I guess not.

Vintage Style Halloween Trinket Boxes

Here are some Halloween trinket boxes that I just listed on eBay. They are hand painted in a vintage Halloween style using orange, black and gold. I really love these boxes because not only do they open at the top, but they also have a secret opening in the middle.

I hand made the cat and the Jack O Lantern knobs out of paper clay. Then I painted them to match. The spider and the leaves are made out of polymer clay.

I relined the inside of the compartments with a black corduroy material.

The cat box measures 5 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches tall including the cat knob.

The JOL box measures 6 1/2 inches wide and 7 inches tall including the jol knob.

I just posted my piece on eBay for the HA31 group Eerie Equinox / Spooky Spring Theme Challenge. I decided to go with a lovely Spring bouquet of man eating plants, inspired by the movie "Little Shop of Horrors".

The three man eating plants and 5 thorny vines have been made from paper mache and various clays.

The arrangement is done in black, green and orange to match the vase. The vase has a crackle finish that has also been antiqued for an aged look. There are four hand painted skull and crossbones that go around the entire vase.

I decided to include a one time feeding of plant food. I can't afford anymore, it will be hard enough now to work with only one thumb.

The whole piece measures about 21 inches high. The arrangement is not glued in so it may be added to or changed to the buyers liking.

Harry Potter Monster Book Box

I had so much fun with the Harry Potter swap on Craftsters that my sister, mieljolie, and I decided to do a personal swap. For my project choice, I made a Monster Book of Monsters box.

The teeth and tongue are made out of polymer clay that I stained and glazed.

I added a spine to stroke incase the book got angry. ;)

Harry Potter Quidditch Trunk Ribbon Box

Here is a project that I made for a Harry Potter swap on Craftsters a few months back. My partner had a ribbon box on Wist.com so I thought it would be fun to try and make one from an old jewelry box that I had. I decided to make it look like the Quidditch trunk from the first Harry Potter movie.

My Daughter's Leprechaun Trap

Since St. Patrick's Day is approaching, I thought I would share with you my daughters school project. Her 1st grade class had to make a leprechaun trap.

She designed it to where the leprechaun walks up the rainbow and spots the pot of gold. As he walks to the pot he falls through a trap door. Daddy helped her install an alarm on the door so she will know when she has caught one. She put a plexi glass window on the side to see in easily.

She didn't want him to get hurt when he fell, so we made a pillow for him to land on. She also put some Lucky Charm cereal in there in case he got hungry.

She says if she catches one that she wants to wish for a castle!

Well here it is, I finally finished it. I bet you weren't expecting this!

I decided to take off the candle holder, flip it around and add a clock. I don't really use candle sticks much. I keep forgetting about them and then I find that they have dripped all down my walls and onto the floor. Not cool! I do like clocks thought, maybe because I am always wondering what time it is. I don't have many clocks in my house though because I keep selling them all.

Oh well, but any way I thought it would be fun to make some polymer clay skeletons and have it look like one is coming out of the ground while his buddy is hitching a ride up.

I added pins to his arms and legs so that he would swing.

The third skeleton is peeking from behind a stalagmite seeing what is going on. Or he could be just like me and is just wanting to know what time it is.

Work In Progress

I have been posting a lot of projects that I have done in the past, so I thought that I should add a post about what I'm currently working on now.

O.K. well maybe just a hint. I decided my first project for 2009 will be something kind of small. I found an old candle sconce and decided to do something whimsical with it. I think you will be a little surprised. I hope to have it all finished and ready to list on eBay by this weekend.

LED Light Up Clocks

I loved doing these clocks! I had found them at a craft store and thought that it would be a cool idea to put a clay scene inside them.

My husband helped me add LED lights to give the scene an erie look and to also see the clock at night. We made them to where the switch is hidden inside a tombstone. Just tilt it back and the lights turn on!

This one was actually the first one I created and sold in July 2007. Each scene is different and we used different colored LEDs.

Chess Game

This was the first game I created. I sold it on ebay in March 2007. I found the board and thought it would be cool to make polymer clay chess pieces to go with it.

There are black and orange clay chips on the bottom of each piece so it is easy to keep track of each players pieces. I made it witch against witch.

The drawer opens up on each end to store all the pieces safely when not in use. I made polymer clay bat knobs on the drawer to match the hand painted bats on the board.

Mantel Clock

Here is a vintage style Halloween mantel clock that I did in April 2008. I really love this clock, it's one of my favorite.

As you can see, I hand painted it in a vintage Halloween style using black, orange and antique gold. I added a black polymer clay bat to the handle on top and a clay Jack O Lantern by the clock face.

Here is the before picture of the clock. I still have one more just like this one that I will be doing in the future.

Peg Games

I always enjoyed playing with the old Jump a Peg games and thought it would be fun to make one. I took a small old jewelry box, and with the help of my husband, made a game board with one side being the Jump a Peg game and the other side Tic Tac Toe.

The first one I created and sold in June of 2007.

I took 14 pegs and added polymer clay Jack O Lanterns to 7 of them and clay cat heads to the other 7. I lined the inside of the box so the pegs can be safely stored. To change to the other side of the board on this one, there are bat pegs that slide out the side.

The second one that I created and sold in March 2008. I used the same kind of pegs, but my husband came up with a way to have the board spin around inside the lid instead of using removable pegs.

Both were so fun to make, it was hard to sell them because the family had a great time playing with them. I do plan to make a few more in the future.

Light Up Musical Trinket Box

I created and sold this project back in October 2007. I had a lot of fun with this one. It was made from an old jewelry box that I had found. See bottom for before picture.

After removing the mirror and jewelry compartments, I prepped and painted. I added polymer clay Jack O Lanterns to the top and clay spiders that look like they're crawling all over the sides. Then, I removed the glass panels and added my own that I created using different colored polymer clay. When the doors are open, the scene also shows on the inside.

I added a light to the inside of the box so the panels light up.

Finally, I removed and replaced the old musical movement with a cool one that plays Alfred Hitchcock's theme "March of a Marionette". I added a clay bat to the turn knob in back for added detail.

Welcome to my Creepy Creations. Please come in and sit for a spell. I am new to this so you will have to bear with me. I have been meaning to get this blog going for quite awhile now. My sister has been on my case telling me to get it done already and post something. Well here goes:

Hi, my name is Jamie Moore and I am a self taught Halloween artist.

I put this blog together to show you the work that I have done, what I’m currently working on, what I’m selling, and any crazy idea or thing that comes to me in the process.

I like to take found objects and turn them into functional one of a kind art. I always try and remember to take a photo of the piece that I am doing before I start on it. It is kind of neat to see the before and after. Sometimes it is not even used for the same thing that it started out as.

It is time for me to get back to work now. I have taken quite a break since Halloween. I am excited to get back to work. I have quite a few ideas in mind that I will be sharing with you later.
