Another Blog Award!

I just received this awesome blog award from Heather with Witch Hollow Primitives. I feel very honored that she would give me such a cool award. Thank you so much!! She is a wonderful Halloween artist and she has recently listed some very cute Halloween paintings on eBay that have a clever story behind them. You can check them out at her blog Witch Hollow Primitives.

I would definitely like to pass this award on to 3 other blogs that share the same fun Halloweenie enthusiasm (as Heather put it). Each one truely deserves this award!

2. Flora with Bone Head Studio

3. David with Chicken Lips

Another Project With My Daughter

Thought I would share another project that I did with my daughter for school. If you know my daughter than you know that she absolutely loves bunnies!! According to her, she has loved them ever since she was little. Well any way, she was supposed to make or decorate a hat to wear for a hat parade in her first grade class. We went to our local party store and she fell in love with a fuzzy (and I mean fuzzy) pink hat (I forgot to mention that she also absolutely loves pink). So, we came up with the idea to make a bunny hat as you can see below.

It was actually quite easy. We cut 2 holes on the top of the hat and slid a bunny ear headband that she had gotten for Easter. We figured that way since the hat was a little big, that the headband would help keep it on her head and also it saves mom from trying to sew. Next, we just hot glued on some large wiggly eyes, a nose, and, of course, a fluffy white tail in the back. Presto! Off to school she goes!

Here she is starting to really get into modeling the hat!

Blog Award

Sorry I am a little slow, but I am finally posting a wonderful blog award that I received a few weeks back from Chris at Designs by CK. Chris is an awesome artist and his blog is sooo cool! I love seeing all the funny photos he posts too. I did not want this award to pass by without giving a big THANK YOU CHRIS! I'm still kind of new to this, but I think I am supposed to list 7 things about myself and then pass the award on to 7 others. Here goes:

1. I am scared to death of spiders. Don't ask me why I have one on my blog.

2. I am left handed, so I guess that means I am in my right mind.

3. I love love love Starbucks, I could probably keep them in business by myself.

4. I can not stand to look at or touch raw meat. I don't know why I thought of that, I think I'm getting desperate.

5. Oh, I love to read horror and mystery books. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Anne Rice and JK Rowlings.

6. I was born and raised in Kansas. I moved away as soon as I was old enough (said I was never going back). Had to come back temporarily to help out family, but then I ended up meeting my husband and have not been able to leave Kansas again since.

7. I am not a very good swimmer. I have been saved twice without knowing that I needed to be saved. I thought I was doing quite well, I guess not.

Wow, that was hard. Now to pass this award on to 7 others. This will be easy.

1. Tiffany with
The Art of Can Tabistry - has a very cool corset made out of can tabs. She has way more patience than me.

2. Sarah with
Cottage Garden Studio - I always enjoy reading her blog, it is so interesting and full of wonderful art. I believe she even has a give away going on now!

3. Carmen with
Whimsy Folk Artist aka Spooky Hollow Folk Art - She has done a great job on her blog, it is looking very cool and her art is great too.

4. Heather with
Witch Hollow Primitives - Very cool artist and a wonderful person. Her blog is awesome.

5. Karen with
Hope in the Heart of Darkness - Another great artist and she also has a very cool blog.

6. Josie with
Skeleton in my Closet - Great art and I really love the coffee guy she has posted on her blog.

7. Sherry and Ron with
Byrum Art - Love their paintings and their blog is so cool.

Thanks again Chris!

Vintage Style Halloween Trinket Boxes

Here are some Halloween trinket boxes that I just listed on eBay. They are hand painted in a vintage Halloween style using orange, black and gold. I really love these boxes because not only do they open at the top, but they also have a secret opening in the middle.

I hand made the cat and the Jack O Lantern knobs out of paper clay. Then I painted them to match. The spider and the leaves are made out of polymer clay.

I relined the inside of the compartments with a black corduroy material.

The cat box measures 5 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches tall including the cat knob.

The JOL box measures 6 1/2 inches wide and 7 inches tall including the jol knob.

Thank you so much for looking! Here is the eBay auction if you would like to check them out:
